The Journal of Social Health (JoSH) features peer-reviewed and interdisciplinary research and analysis of health issues (medical) in the context of social (non-medical) determinants of health, namely:  income and social protection, education, unemployment and job insecurity, working life conditions, food insecurity, housing, basic amenities and the environment, early childhood development, social inclusion and non-discrimination, structural conflict, and access to affordable health services of decent quality, among others. The journal biannually welcomes original research articles, systematic and integrative reviews, and policy papers of general interest to developing countries, with clearly defined implications for health quality, access, and equity.
